Who We Are

Johnson Bros. Bakery Supply, Inc. (JBBS) is the largest Texas-based provider of commercial baking products. We exist to exceed our customers’ expectations with “Quality and Service” by being the leading provider of innovative bakery solutions.

Consistent with this mission, we aren’t tied down to a particular manufacturer. We simply sell the best products at the best prices. Our customers include retail, wholesale and in-store bakeries, as well as food service vendors and re-distributors.

About Our Founder

Kevin Johnson, CEO and President

Kevin Johnson founded Johnson Bros. Bakery Supply, Inc. in 1994 with his brother Blain, and acquired sole ownership of the company in 2012. As head of the largest Texas-based supplier of bakery products, Kevin takes his greatest satisfaction not in JBBS’ market successes but rather in its work to improve lives through cooperative outreach with organizations such as Project Angel Fares, Susan G. Komen, the Walker Belden Foundation and HeartGift.

Our History

Starting from Scratch

Johnson Bros. Bakery Supply, Inc. was founded by brothers Kevin and Blain Johnson in September of 1994. Driven by an unwavering commitment to providing quality baking supplies at a fair price, the brothers’ upstart company quickly found a home in the San Antonio market, with offices in Carrollton and a distribution center in Houston to follow. In 2012, after 18 years at JBBS, Blain Johnson decided to hang up his apron to pursue his passion for mission work full-time. Following Blain’s departure, Kevin acquired sole ownership of JBBS.

Rising to the Occasion

Informed by his keen understanding of the baking industry, Kevin soon identified an untapped market for professional cake supplies at the consumer level. What started as a hunch would become Johnson Bros. most ambitious undertaking to date, and the first Over The Top Cake Supplies retail store was launched in 2013, followed by additional locations in San Antonio, Round Rock and The Woodlands.

In 2015, as the craft beer market evolved from niche curiosity to bonafide market force, JBBS founded Brewery Direct, LLC, a brewery supply company serving Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. The following year, JBBS would introduce our Bakeaholic private label product line.

A Divine Opportunity

In 2023, Johnson Bros. Bakery Supply acquired Garland, Texas-based Aphrodite Divine Confections, a wholesale gourmet frozen dessert manufacturing company that specializes in place-and-bake and thaw-and-serve dessert options. This huge step in the business will expand our line of custom and proprietary baked foods under Bakeaholic brands. Aphrodite products and labels will remain unchanged.

Back in the Kitchen

Today, nearly 25 years after Johnson Bros. Bakery Supply was founded, our commitment to providing quality baking supplies at a fair price remains the same.
